Job Description
We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Director for a permanent, full-time leadership role open only to U.S. Citizens. This individual will lead the enterprise-wide quality engineering and automation strategy, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and effective testing practices across all product teams.
This role requires deep hands-on knowledge of automation frameworks, test case design, test coverage, and code review, as well as a strong grasp of tools and methodologies to accelerate high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers focused on automation, continuous testing, and performance testing.

Define and drive the enterprise QA strategy, aligning with engineering, DevOps, and product teams.

Establish quality KPIs and benchmarks for test effectiveness, coverage, and automation maturity.
Technical Oversight

Oversee the creation and execution of manual and automated test cases across UI, API, and backend layers.

Ensure consistent and thorough code reviews of test scripts and frameworks to maintain high automation standards.

Monitor and improve test coverage, ensuring it aligns with product risk profiles and compliance standards.

Lead efforts in selecting, integrating, and maintaining test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, etc.).
Collaboration & Governance

Work closely with development, DevOps, product, and security teams to integrate QA into every stage of SDLC.

Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless execution of automated tests in staging and production.

Own the defect lifecycle management and root cause analysis process for release quality incidents.
Required Qualifications
-
U.S. Citizenship (Required – due to data security and/or government contract compliance).

10+ years of experience in QA, with 4+ years in a QA leadership or director-level role.

Proven experience in:

Designing and managing large-scale test automation frameworks

Writing and reviewing test cases and automation scripts

Conducting code reviews for QA deliverables

Driving test coverage and automation strategy at the organizational level

Hands-on expertise with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, REST Assured, etc.

Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, defense).

Familiarity with performance testing and load testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner.

Certification in ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent.

Knowledge of containerized testing in Docker/Kubernetes environments.

Experience working with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
